There are many types of physical strength. Below are some that I’ve found to be useful as I consider programming for the everyday athletes I work with.
Starting Strength ==> strength + the initiation of a movement
Explosive Strength ==> strength + a powerful, instantaneous movement
Speed Strength ==> strength + velocity
These are by no means my creations. They were initially shared with me by a good friend, who then recommended I acquire the book, “Westside Book of Methods” to learn more deeply about these and other types of strength.
